Oaklands College marketing & business students hear marketing at work

On 4th March, Oaklands College students in Hertfordshire benefitted from an inside peek into marketing in the workplace. Cheshire-based marketing consultancy, Think Beyond, spoke to over 200 students about careers in marketing.

Think Beyond’s founder, Mercè Cozens, presented Oaklands College marketing & business students via video link. Her discussion focussed upon why marketing is so important to business goals; the benefits of choosing marketing as a career and how to get started. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and hear live responses from a marketing expert.

 

Oaklands College: Marketing in the workplace starts with students

Kerry Borman, Business Lecturer at Oaklands College said, “Thank you to Mercè and Think Beyond for helping to educate and inspire our students.”

“Her speech was full of practical tips regarding avenues into marketing as a profession.”

Mercè added, “I was delighted to join Kerry and the students from Oaklands College. I am passionate about developing marketing potential so this was a great opportunity for me. As a level 7 Chartered Marketer myself, I believe in ‘professionalising’ the marketing industry and that can only start with education and inspiring others to develop their talent.”

“There are so many career options in marketing that I wish someone had given me more guidance when I studied. I hope that an exploration of career opportunities and pathways help the students decide on their future careers.”
